BlackJack
Blackjack is one of the most difficult casino games as it involves cards and critical thinking, unlike other games like roulette and slot machines which rely more on intuition and luck. Blackjack can be played with between one to eight normal decks of poker cards.
Cards of rank 2 to 10 have values same as their face value. An example is if a card is 8 hearts, the value of the card is then eight. All face (picture) cards are 10 points. Aces are semi-wild and are considered one of the most powerful cards in blackjack, as it can be worth 1 point or 11 points. It is up to the gambler to decide what number he takes on for the ace card.
The ultimate combination is an ace and a face card. This is known as a blackjack.
A winning blackjack has a payout of one and a half times the bet, in ratio terms, 3:2. Should the gambler and the croupier both have a blackjack, then the bet is a push. Other than a blackjack, a winning hand pays even money. At times, when the gamblers and the croupier does not achieve blackjack, the side that has more points than the opposing side, yet less than 21 wins. Hence, 21 points is the highest and best hand in this game.
However, in the occasion when a gambler draws another card, and he goes over 21, the gambler automatically loses, no qualms about that. It is known as a busted hand, when a gambler, in an attempt to reach 21, overshoots the number, he loses. If both the player and croupier busts, the house advantage is put in place. When there is a tie, the bet is a push. A round of blackjack starts with each player placing his/her bet in the circle or logo directly in front.
When all have placed their bets, the croupier will distribute the first cards. The first card (the hole card) is dealt face down. When all gamblers who have betted have one card, then the croupier deals a second card, and the card is dealt face up for all to see (the up card). If the croupier deals a second card which is either a ten or a face or an ace card, then it is possible that the gambler has a blackjack. A gambler need not always have a blackjack to win; as long as he has cards which add up to 21 or closest to 21, the gambler still wins and get the payout.
